Our client is a leading global reinsurer intermediary is looking for a Senior Actuary Life/Health Reinsurance.

They offer a wide range of traditional reinsurance products and related services, which are complemented by insurance-based corporate finance solutions and supplementary services. Their core business segments are: risk transfer and capital management.

Job description
A) Objectives of the job
From a more actuarial-technical standpoint, your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating the firms leading position as a reinsurance intermediary, providing tailored solutions will fall within our remit as will defining and pricing beneficial reinsurance programs with clients across all of our life lines of business.
- Furthermore, you will manage all technical and actuarial aspects of the client relations for all Life & Health business.
- It will also be your responsibility to prepare and maintain technical basis for Life & Health business.
- From a more commercial standpoint:
- You will be required to have in-depth knowledge of the Dutch market and clients (products, standard tariffs, market studies and tables, legal and regulatory framework, etc.) and liaise with the Brussels team.
- In addition, you will grow the Life & Health business by leading and coordinating the technical and actuarial aspects of business development initiatives.
- Finally, you will enhance the firm’s presence in the market by holding/attending seminars, cultivating external contacts with clients in the Netherlands and maintaining with associations.
B) Reporting lines
Sits in a team of 3 experienced reinsurance actuaries. With 5 people support.
Reports to the deputy CEO. You will liaise with Products Life & Health, and Finance and Risk Management on all technical and actuarial aspects at EMEA level
C) Requirements
- University degree or equivalent
- Qualified actuary from a recognized actuarial society
- Minimum 5 years Life & Health insurance and preferably reinsurance experience
- Solid background in the local social security system, the Life & Health market and products, the legal and regulatory environment of the Netherlands
- Sound understanding of Economic Valuation framework and financial reporting tools
- Able to translate technical/actuarial product requirements into conceptual frameworks, which will then be translated by IT into personalized models.
- Able to present the technical and actuarial aspects of an idea/proposal clearly with confidence and in non-technical language
