Synechron Business Consulting is currently recruiting for different levels within its Finance, Risk and Control (FR&C) practice in Amsterdam.


Risk Management Consultant Financial Services

The role will be dependent on experience, but at all levels responsibilities will include typical consulting activities:

  • Deliver specific projects on client site individually and as part of Synechron Business Consulting and client teams;
  • Engage with clients to deliver practical solutions;
  • Project management;
  • Practice development and entrepreneurship;
  • Proposition and solution development, using innovative concepts where effective;
  • Client proposal development and sales support;
  • Client presentations;
  • Contributing to vision development, white papers and thought leadership.



  • Finished university
  • A minimum of two years of experience within the financial services industry (banking and/or insurance);
  • Experience of either performing a function in the risk domain of a financial services organization or as a consultant to such an organisation
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (risk assessment, monitoring and reporting) and organization (strategy, governance, policies);
  • Knowledge of regulatory and economic factors impacting the industry;
  • Experience in theoretical aspects of modelling or developing quantitative risk models;
  • Experience in quantitative risk measurement and/or pricing across different risks (market risk, interest rate risk and liquidity risk) and asset classeswithin a bank, insurance or asset management firm is an incentive. Additional experience with credit risk, incl. counterparty credit risk is a pre;
  • Experience with data management (data governance models, data flow design/analysis, data integration architecture)
  • Knowledge of finance processes is a pre;
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and/or wholesale banking and/or retail banking or insurance products;
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to senior stakeholders- exhibiting and understanding of strategic levers and governance mechanisms;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch and English
  • Project management and delivery excellence;
  • Good presentation skills and analytical ability.
