You support financial institutions in developing, validating and implementing models in connection with accounting and regulatory topics.

You will be part of the Risk Modelling team within PwC’s successful and fast growing CMAAS practice that supports multinationals and financial institutions on projects related to Accounting, Quantitative Finance, and Risk and Regulatory topics.

Who are you?

  • You have an academic degree in a quantitative field, such as Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics etc.;
  • You have affinity with- and/or are interested to learn about financial markets;
  • You have 0-2 years of professional working experience;
  • You are fluent in at least one of the following languages: R, Python, SAS, Matlab;
  • You are able to articulate your thoughts and ideas also to colleagues with less experience with your area of expertise;
  • You are a team player and contribute towards a pleasant working atmosphere;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in English and preferably in Dutch;
  • You prefer a position as a consultant in a dynamic working environment over a fixed position at a corporate;
  • You want to grow, build relations, create impact and get the most out of yourself and your colleagues.

What the job entails
The Risk Modelling team supports financial institutions in developing, validating and implementing models in connection with accounting and regulatory topics. Examples of such models are credit risk models, market risk models and pricing models. The engagements you will work on vary in length; covering from a few weeks to a few months. You will be mainly based at the client’s site but depending on the engagement, you could also be based at the PwC office. The remainder of your time will be spent on developing and updating your technical skills and knowledge, as well as growing your internal and external network.

The job includes statistical programming and handling/processing of big data sets, for which you will need to have extensive experience in coding. The programming language in which the models need to be developed or validated will depend on the clients’ needs, therefore, it is essential that you are comfortable in at least one language and that you are willing and able to learn/adapt to other languages as necessary.

We are looking for more than just analytical skills. You will work in a business unit of specialists with different backgrounds, and will be an advisor to the client’s (senior) management who will rely on your technical expertise. You therefore need to be able to break down complex problems and explain these in plain non-technical language. Both verbal and written communication skills are of high importance for this position. The product we are delivering should be understandable and usable for our clients. This requires a structured way of working and proper documentation skills.
